Our 2 bedroom cabin was roomy and well appointed - perfect for the family gathering we planned. The staff was very welcoming and helpful and we appreciated their assistance in getting our cabins close together. The restaurant was excellent with views that were just beautiful even in rainy weather. Congratulations, Kentucky State Parks. Great stay!

This is a beautiful place to visit, stay, and eat. Lots of hiking, lovely views, beautiful drives, friendliest staff, and good dining. We stayed in cabin 220. It had a living room, bed room, and fully equipped small kitchen. Breakfast at the lodge free with stay. It included sausage patties, eggs, biscuits, gravy, Belgium waffles, coffee, tea, juices, and a few more items. We had dinner there as well. The food was very good, our waitress was super friendly, and views from the restaurant were beautiful. I also highly recommend the salted caramel cookie with ice cream! Honestly, no reason to go too far from the park!

The rooms were very clean, the food was great and very reasonably priced. The continental breakfast included with the stay was extremely generous. The salad bar had homemade soup and ham & beans. Above all, EVERYONE staff member went out of their way to make our stay the best possible. The historic lodge is charming and the views are beautiful. We were able to hike multiple trails. We’ll be back.

Check-in staff was amazing! I booked a reservation with one of the main travel sites. They never sent it over. Luckily they were able to accommodate us with their emergency backup room. Thank You! The Restaurant needs improvement. No one to greet you. You just see employees scrambling back and forth, trying not to look at you, even though you've been standing there 10 minutes. We decided to skip the controlled chaos and ordered to go, to take back to our room. Ordered a burger and double onion ring. The beer cheeseburger was amazing with fresh toppings and was a well seasoned juicy burger. We only got about five onion rings. They were cold and greasy, like they had been sitting there a while. We didn't eat them. Breakfast The next morning was decent. We really enjoyed the balcony. After dark, it was quiet and peaceful. Definitely will stay again.

My husband and I took a short trip to Pine Mountain State Resort Park for a little getaway after a summer of medical issues. First, this is a beautiful park and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Our king room was well furnished, comfortable, with a nice, peaceful balcony overlooking the forest and mountain view. We had a very good dinner in the lodge restaurant: popcorn shrimp with excellent coleslaw and onion rings. My husband had the BLT with about a 1/2 lb of bacon on it! Sadly, we had to cut our trip short due to medical issues--and the staff was very understanding and kind. Finally, if you have a physical disability, be warned that this is a difficult setting to navigate. If you are staying in the lodge you will almost certainly face steps. The toilets in the non-accessible rooms are very low and do not have grab bars for assistance. I hope to return when we are in better shape!

We stayed in the lodge, ate dinner in the restaurant, and hiked a few trails. Rooms were clean with good wifi. Beds were comfortable. The trails are beautiful. We loved the fried catfish. Our server was excellent. It was more than I expected from a state park.

We have been to a lot of State Parks over the years and this one might be the best. The staff and service were amazing, and our cabin was nice and clean. We ate breakfast and dinner at the lodge several times and it was always fantastic. The alcohol menu is really nice, plenty of variety and reasonably priced. They offer more amenities than other parks like borrowing a fishing pole and tackle box for the lake. You can also borrow board games from the game room to take to your room/cabin. The game room also has a ping pong table, a table-size Connect4 game and other cool things. Pet friendly. The hiking trails were clear and labeled well with plenty of signs. We will be visiting again.
